Open Burning |
All citizens within the town need a forestry permit in order to do any open burning within 100' of a residence. These permits are available at the Leland Fire Department. Citizens can have open burns but must be in constant observation, have appropriate firefighting tools and must have a permit "readily accessible" when requested by an official. Only vegetative debris (sticks, leaves, yard clippings) is allowed to be burned. Any citizen questions should be directed to 371-2727 or to the Leland Fire & Rescue website. |
